Product Name: Tidewater Blue Series
Tidewater Sensors is an American Company created by an electronics technician at NASA and one very passionate fisherman. It was created, using NASA technology, to solve fuel related problems in the marine world. Two main problems exist on boats; the first is fuel level accuracy. The second is contamination in the tank.
Fuel Accuracy:
Tidewater Blue Series Probe is as accurate as the installer sets it up to be. If you measure twice and cut once, as the old adage goes, it will read 100%.
On the water, knowing how much fuel is essential for a safe day or evening of fishing and pleasure. Just about all boats have a float system in the tank coming from the original equipment manufacturer or OEM. They are cheaply made, very inaccurate and ultra sensitive measurements that fluctuate with the bouncing of the vessel. All this results in a fuel gauge whose needle fluctuates wildly +/- ½ a tank or worse at times. Some more advanced units use magnets with a float that moves up and down with the level. These tend to stick at the worst times. Then there are capacitance style probes. These get confusing to order and their electronic connection points have to be at the sending unit which puts them in the flow of the water on the way to the bilge. The results are corrosion and connections shorting out, once again leaving the captain with a false or without a reading at all.
Fuel Contamination:
Tidewater Blue Series Probe sits a ½ inch below the fuel pickup in the tank and is constantly monitoring the liquid it’s submerged in.
There is not a sending unit on the market that will tell the operator, before the boat leaves the dock or driveway, if there is water in the tank. Flow Scans and sensors on the engine are great but they are already after the fact. The water has already traveled through the fuel pumps at least if not the injectors. Anything going through your lines, but fuel, will slowly burn them out and cause unnecessary wear. Even Racor® will not stop all the water. You can't go less than a 10 micron filter or you will choke your fuel pump stressing it more.
